Ryan Murrant Editions
Returns & Refunds Policy
Last updated: 13 May 2026
This policy explains your rights to cancel, return and obtain a refund for purchases made from Ryan Murrant Editions. It is provided in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, which apply to UK consumers. We extend the same rights to international customers as a matter of good practice, except where expressly stated otherwise (for example, in relation to international return shipping costs and customs charges). Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
1. Your right to cancel (14-day cooling-off period)
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of receiving your goods, without giving a reason.
The 14-day cancellation period begins on the day you (or someone you nominate, other than the courier) physically receive the goods. If your order arrives in multiple parts, the period begins when you receive the last item.
2. How to cancel
To exercise your right to cancel, you must inform us of your decision by a clear statement before the 14-day period expires. You can do this by:
- Emailing hello@ryanmurranteditions.com with the subject line "Order Cancellation"
- Writing to us at Ryan Murrant (sole trader), Flat 3/5, 7 Hilton Gardens, Bishopbriggs, G64 3NS
Please include your name, order number, the date of the order, and the date you received the goods. You may use the model cancellation form at the end of this policy, but you are not required to.
3. Returning the goods
After notifying us of cancellation, you must return the goods to us without undue delay and in any event within 14 days of telling us you wish to cancel.
You are responsible for the cost of returning the goods, unless the goods are faulty, damaged or not as described. For international returns, you are also responsible for any export documentation, customs declarations and associated charges; we recommend marking the parcel clearly as "Returned Goods" to avoid being charged import duties on receipt.
Goods must be returned in their original condition and original packaging where possible. We recommend using a tracked or signed-for service, as you are responsible for the goods until they reach us. Proof of postage is not proof of delivery.

4. Refunds
We will aim to refund all payments received from you, including the standard delivery cost, within 14 days of receiving the returned goods or, if earlier, the day you provide evidence of having returned them.
If you chose a more expensive delivery option than our standard, we will only refund the cost of the standard delivery option.
Refunds will be made using the same payment method used for the original transaction, unless you expressly agree otherwise. You will not incur any fees from us as a result of the refund.
We may reduce the refund to reflect any reduction in the value of the goods caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
5. Faulty, damaged or incorrect items
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If your print is faulty, damaged on arrival, or not what you ordered, you have a tiered set of statutory rights:
Within 30 days of receipt — short-term right to reject
You may reject the goods and receive a full refund, including the original delivery cost. You do not have to accept a repair or replacement first.
After 30 days — right to repair or replacement
You may ask us to repair or replace the goods (at our cost). We must do this within a reasonable time and without causing you significant inconvenience. You can usually choose between repair and replacement, but if one is disproportionately costly or impossible, we may offer the other.
Final right to reject or price reduction
If a repair or replacement fails, is impossible, or cannot be provided within a reasonable time, you may either reject the goods for a refund or keep them and ask for a price reduction. If you exercise this final right to reject within 6 months of receipt, you are entitled to a full refund with no deduction for use. After 6 months, we may make a reasonable deduction for the use you have had from the goods.
Burden of proof
If a fault appears within 6 months of delivery, it is presumed to have been present at delivery unless we can show otherwise. After 6 months, you would need to show that the fault was present at delivery (for example, via a manufacturing defect rather than ordinary wear).
Time limit
Claims under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 may generally be brought for up to 5 years from when you could reasonably have discovered the defect, in line with Scottish prescription rules.
Reporting a fault
To report a faulty or damaged item, please email hello@ryanmurranteditions.com with your order number, a description of the problem and photographs of the issue. We will aim to respond within 3 working days.
If the item is faulty, damaged or not as described, we will cover the cost of return postage.
6. Items that cannot be cancelled or returned
The right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply to certain goods, including items "made to the consumer's specifications" or "clearly personalised" to the individual customer.
All prints sold by Ryan Murrant Editions are hand-signed by the artist before dispatch as a standard mark of authenticity. The signature is added to every print regardless of who orders it and does not make the print "personalised" to the individual customer in the sense required by the Regulations. The standard 14-day cancellation right described above therefore applies in full to all our prints.
If we introduce genuinely personalised or bespoke prints in future (for example, customer-specific dedications or commissioned works), those items will be exempt from cancellation rights, and this policy will be updated accordingly.
Exemptions from cancellation do not, in any case, apply where the goods are faulty, damaged or not as described — in those cases, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 remain in full.
